Thoughts about photos

As Facebook probably informed you, today is the World Photo Day!

I don't know if I am the only one but most of the times that somebody asks to take a picture I say no, because I am afraid that I will not look good. I know that I shouldn't think like that but I can't help myself. I dread the idea that I will look horrible while all the others will be gorgeous. Come on, don't judge me.. who likes to see himself or herself unattractive?

Think about Facebook and Instagram. When we take photos that we look beautiful and glamorous we upload them there immediately so that all of our friends and the whole world can see them and give us some compliments by pressing "like" or commenting -despite the fact that some of that compliments are pure courtesy and not the true impressions or feelings of the people expressing them-.

I am not suggesting to stop using these social networks, since it would be a piece of advice that I would not follow but I am trying to say that you should care less about the perfect picture. If you are not a professional photographer but you just like taking pictures, think less about the amount of likes you can get and the amount of flaws you can see on yourself and think more about the perfect moment.

Surround yourself with people you love and just enjoy life with them. Do crazy things, have awesome experiences and don't forget to capture the moments. It doesn't matter if you look weird or funny in some or in all of the photos. What really matters is that you can cherish the great adventures of your life by browsing through a photo album. Believe me, I know how hard it is to be okay and to accept yourself in a photo that you find awful, as it comes from a person with a lot of really bad photo related experiences.

So, just gather your loved ones and create some memories!
