Thoughts when things don't go your way

There are days that nothing goes as planned. Imagine yourself going to bed with the thought that you'll get up early the next morning and it'll be a productive day but you end up waking up around two in the afternoon. Imagine your phone being dead after all the youtube videos watching and the instagram checking but your charger is taking care of the phone of your guests. Imagine wanting to relax by watching your favorite tv series on your laptop but the wifi sucks and it stops the video every 10 seconds. Imagine having a hot date at the night but when you look yourself at the mirror you see not one but three new pimples on your face. Imagine now how I feel because all the above have happened to me today.

When all these incidents were occurred, I was thinking that I am the unluckiest person in the whole world. However, when I started writing I realized that I was exaggerating. There are people out there with real problems that cannot be tackled easily and their consequences may be detrimental for a number of people. Such problems are wars, emigration, health or financial issues, unemployment, unwanted pregnancy and so on. I can't even describe the turbulence, the anxiety and the worries that people who face one or more of these problems feel.

So, when you have to deal with simple everyday problems before start banging your head to the wall take a minute to think of all the precious animate and inanimate objects that you have in your life. Your health, the company of your family and friends, your education, your dreams are enough to make you feel bliss and blessed especially when there are people who don't know how life is with these privileges.

"Okay, I understand all that and I am grateful but how am I going to overcome the everyday crisis?" you may ask. Well, here are a few things that I do when things are hard:

  • Yell: There is no shame in screaming. I am not going to lie, I have screamed at my computer screen once or twice. Be careful though. You should do that when you are alone at home and not too loud so that you don't disturb your neighbours. If they all know that you are a rebel, then go ahead and do it but absolutely not during the night time.
  • Complain: This is actually something that I do almost every single day. Just find a person who is okay with you complaining about everything or at least he or she can tolerate it for a while and you'll be able to face any problem. However, you should be careful and not turn into an annoying creature who only complains, because nobody appreciates these kinds of people.
  • Relax: Either take a shower or buy an anti-stress ball or punch a pillow or break a plate. Find an activity or a thing that can calm you down and after you do that go ahead and think logically in order to figure out the solution to your problem.
  • Find your motto: Search for a wise, witty, inspirational and motivational quote that can cheer you up no matter what and then go back to your problem with a clear mind and solve it. My motto is that everything happens for a reason.
Therefore, life will always put obstacles in your way. Sometimes it will be easy to overcome them and sometimes ti will be hard. No matter what you will always have to face these obstacles. But this is why life is so sweet; because when you overcome the problems you become stronger, you become a survivor.
