Thoughts about family
As you turn 18, you usually move out of your parent's house and you live all alone. On the one hand, this is great because this is your chance to become independent and responsible. On the other hand, it is really hard to make do when you don't have your parents to help you and provide you with everything you need and want.
To be honest, l am lucky because I live close to my parents, so my mother visits my regularly in order to help me with the cleaning of the house. However, a long time passed since the last time she had come and I'm not going to lie some insects had moved in with me. It was really bad. So, I was extremely happy when my mom and my sister came to clean.
You may ask "Why didn't you clean your house?". Well, I do some chores but I was used to have my mom do everything and I never actually cared to watch her clean. Anyway, within a few hours they managed to make the house look like a brand new. Seeing it so clean was like an early Christmas miracle - I am obsessed with Christmas and I can't wait for the decorations and the celebrations to begin!-.
Besides that, what really made me happy was the walk that my sister and I took. We walked, we talked and we took pictures. She lives like an hour away from my place plus she works every day so it is difficult for us to see each other regularly. She shared with me some crazy stories and I told her about my dreams.
The moral of this post is not that family is great because they clean your house without asking for money or that I am a really messy person -although I feel that I focused on that more than I should- but the fact that they are always there for you no matter what and without asking something in return. Moreover, you can tell them anything no matter how weird or embarrassing, as you know that they won't laugh at you or use it to blackmail you. So, keep your family close and show them with your actions how much you love and appreciate them.
