Thoughts about weird experiences
from the short movie Extn.21 by Lizzie Oxby
Life is all about moments. The more pleasurable experiences you have, the happier life you'll probably have. And I am sure that all people are interested in the amusing and cheerful experiences. However, you can't avoid the bad ones. Personally, I think that this is good, because only by knowing how it feels to be sad or unsuccessful you can appreciate the good things that come your way.
But what about those experiences that you can't categorize? I am talking about the times that you felt anxious and worried like hell but if you could, you wouldn't change a thing. Usually it is the bitter feeling that is dominant at the specific moment or even when you think about it but you realize that you have gained things out of this experience.
But as I am doing right now, you don't feel comfortable talking about it. You might keep it a secret or if you had had a partner in crime, you may have it as an inside joke or you may have taken an oath not to speak about it ever again.
It is up to you what to do with the experience. I would suggest that you don't try to forget it by keeping it at the back of your head. Write about it in your diary or make something creative out of it, like a short story or a painting.
You only live once so you should appreciate every moment. Besides it's these weird experiences sometimes that make our lives interesting and worth-living. Maybe you don't believe it right now, but you should keep in mind that the experiences that we have and the way we face them shape our personality.
All the above are about weird experiences. I am not talking about sad or bad ones, because although they do affect our character as well and an artistic masterpiece can be created, they need a different and careful approach. On the contrary, strange adventures can be dealt with laughter, which is the best reaction, in spite of the seriousness or how ridiculous the situation was.
So, just enjoy and appreciate every little crazy and weird experience you have. Life is too short to be miserable.
