Mid-Year Book Freak-Out Tag 2024 🙋👀

We've reached the middle of 2024 (🎉😐), so there is only one thing to do: answer the mid-year book freak-out tag questions. This is my first time trying it, but I hope that it can become a tradition in this blog.

Before we start, let me present a brief recap of my reading year so far:

Books Read: 23

5-Star Books:

Also, here are some rules to make things interesting:

  1. Only one book-answer per question.
  2. Don't repeat books.

Enough with the chit-chat; let's get to the mid-year book freak-out tag!

Mid-Year Book Freak-Out Tag

Q: Best Book You've Read So Far in 2024?

This has to be one of the most beautifully written books I've ever read, and it's The Prophets by Robert Jones Jr.

Q: Best Sequel You've Read So Far in 2024?

I've read only one sequel, but it was a fun time. It was the second book in Julia Quinn's Bridgerton series, The Viscount Who Loved Me

Q: New Release That You Haven't Read But Want To?

Bride by Ali Hazelwood. A paranormal romance by the queen of sweet STEM romances? Yes, please!

Q: Most Anticipated Release for the Second Half of the Year?

Honestly, I don't keep up with new releases. The only book that comes to mind is Intermezzo by Salley Rooney.

Q: Biggest Surprise?

My biggest surprise is a book that I randomly picked from the library because it sounded interesting, but I wasn't expecting much because I had heard nothing about it. However, it is my only 5-star for 2024 so far, and it is Stay With Me by Ayobami Adebayo. *Trigger Warning: Difficulty with getting pregnant*

Q: Favourite New Author (debut or new to you)?

The first book that I read in 2024 was Anxious People, and I understood why so many people love Fredrik Backman. Now I love him too!

Q: Newest Fictional Crush?

Colin Bridgerton was a secondary character in The Duke and I. I loved him from the first book of the Bridgerton series, and I can't wait to get to his book!

Q: A Book that Made You Cry?

I rarely cry when I read books, but there was a scene in The Dead Romantics by Ashley Poston that teared me up because it was sad and sweet at the same time.

Q: A Book that Made You Happy?

Love on the Brain was a cute romance that made my romance-loving heart very happy.

Q: Most Beautiful Book You've Bought This Year?

This is a book written by Konstantinos Theotokis in the early 20th century, and it's called Illegal Love

Q: What Book Do You Need To Read By The End of the Year?

There are MANY books that I want to read in 2024, but the one that comes first to mind is Dracula by Bram Stoker.

And that was the last question of the mid-year book freak-out tag. I would love to read your answers to these questions so that we can talk books in the comments!!!

P.S. I borrowed the questions from Rachel's mid-year book tag video
